Tired of high gas prices, high temperatures and too much pollution? Then it's time for cleaner cars! DC has some of the worst air quality in the country, and it is taking its toll worst on our children. It's time to do something!Come out in support of clean air and clean cars in DC with the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN). The goal is to educate our neighbors and mobilize them to call or write Mayor Williams to protect DC from harmful air pollution and bring us cleaner, more efficient vehicles. Four rallies throughout the city from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, will help generate public support:

CCAN – in cooperation with the DC Environmental Network, the Sierra Club, the National Resources Defense Council and others – will be actively campaigning for Clean Cars legislation in the next year. As the legislation is developed, you can help by contacting your city councilmember and the mayor and educating them about the benefits of Clean Cars legislation. Energetic volunteers are also needed. Go to www.chesapeakeclimate.org to become more involved and sign up for the grassroots action list.
