Stop the Execution of Vernon Evans
Maryland is scheduled to execute death row inmate Vernon Evans the week of April 18. Evidence never shown to a jury suggests that he was not the actual shooter. Come to a panel discussion about this case and the death penalty, and hear from exonerated death row prisoners Shujaa Graham and Madison Hobley, Evans' sister, his attorney and others. This event, organized by the Takoma Park chapter of the Campaign to End the Death Penalty, is on Wednesday, April 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Takoma Presbyterian Church (310 Tulip Ave., Takoma Park).
