Golden Blessings
A benefit vegan dinner to support a field trip to the American Visionary Arts Museum for Emmaus Seniors is being held Thursday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m., at the Arthur S. Flemming Center (1426 Ninth St. NW, Community Room). Through Sept. 5, the museum is holding an amazing exhibit, "The Golden Blessings of Old Age," about senior, self-taught artists who started creating visionary, non-conformist art while in their 60s, 70s and 80s. The exhibit shows that growing older can lead to a creative explosion and that age can bring out the real potential of wisdom and creativity.
